This Privacy Policy describes how “Dpart” (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices outlined below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information – When you sign up or log in, we collect your email address and display name. This information is stored in Firebase Authentication.
- Contacts Data – With your permission, the app reads names, phone numbers, email addresses, and contact photos from your device to help you find friends who already use Dpart.

Usage description in the project:"We need your location even when the app is in the background to adjust departure reminders." - Events and Notifications – We store event details (name, location, date, contacts, and invited user IDs) in Firebase Firestore to provide reminders and share events with other users.
Remote notification tokens are saved in Firestore so we can send push notifications: the app registers for remote notifications and stores the token for the signed‑in user. - Analytics – The project includes Firebase Analytics, which automatically collects anonymized information about app usage.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the core functionality of the app, such as scheduling reminders and computing travel times.
- Sync your contacts and match them with existing Dpart users.
- Send push notifications about upcoming events and reminders.
- Improve the Service through aggregate analytics and performance metrics.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers – We use Firebase and Apple Push Notification Service to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf in accordance with this policy.
- Event Participants – When you create or join an event, basic event details may be visible to invited users.
- Legal Requirements – We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
4. Your Choices
- Contacts Access – You can choose whether to grant access to your contacts. If denied, the app will not sync or display friend matches.
- Location Access – You may grant or revoke location permissions at any time in Settings. Without location access, the app cannot provide accurate departure reminders.
- Notifications – You can opt out of push notifications in your device settings.
- Account Deletion – To delete your account or personal data, please contact us using the information below.
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption provided by Firebase for data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or on our website.
